Ride fee: $30/rider, medal awarded at finish included in registration fee

This route is available to ride from March 15 through October 15.

Hotels:

Start/Finish:

Red Roof Inn, 16 Crowell Rd, Asheville, NC 28806 …… (828) 667-9803

The overnight control is in Canton, NC…

Comfort Inn, 737 Champion Dr, Canton, NC 28716…… (828) 648-4881
Rates are higher at the Comfort Inn and it is the control. We have had success in working with hotel for drop bags.
Another hotel option: America’s Best Value Inn
This is a more economical option; we have no experience with this hotel to date though offer it as an option for variety.

There is access to plenty of food options right by the hotel including a 24hr Waffle House Also, this hotel is only a 30 minute drive from the start so it’s feasible to drive a dropbag to the overnight yourself the night before if you wish. Access to Canton, NC is on I-40 heading West from Asheville.
Here is the route in OpenRunner for elevation verification

For you reference, here is the RwGPS link that shows all of the controls and overnight stop:

I have done my best to note all services as I see necessary including water on the RwGPS map and some beyond what you will need. For example, filling your bottles up at Mt. Pisgah should be sufficient to get you to the finish but there is a 24hr Ingles Grocery on Hwy 70 before the final climb if needed.

Congratulations to all finishers:

A month ago there was a bridge out near mile 104 on the road to Rossman. There WAS a very scenic detour that was all paved roads.
